I am excited to have learned so many tricks with pictures and sounds. Sherry

Interesting class today.

Fruit basket turnover is very stressful....let us stay secure in our own "spaces!"

Kelli said...

YEAH, google is fun. I have enjoyed the wonderful ideas and suggestions other teachers have provided throughout this class and previous classes. It's also nice when you finish early and have extra time to do lesson plans and create in-class notes on powerpoint!

Sorry about the mispelled word...it is socratic....I was really excited at the moment!

I am just thrilled to learn new technology, especially from the Pro, Brenda Hedgecock!

I enjoyed the classes when we worked on Open Mind and Inspiration. I never knew what these programs were for. This really helped me organize my unit plan!

I also enjoyed today's class. I love how Kevin still acts like kid. He sure did love playing some inappropriate sounds!

I really like the format and set-up of the class...laid-back! Because I am using the unit I'm creating in this class with my ELA class, I am now motivated to teach the 4th nine weeks. Actually being able to use and apply the information learned in the class makes it worthwhile.

I'm surprised that I actually got in - as I am a computer loser.

Howdy

steppABC said...

Yeah! I am finding lots of neat sites to use at school!

Gaye said...

I have learned a great deal of new and interesting things.

I really appreciate Brenda's patience and help!!

Most/Least valuable:

The least valuable activity I did so far was the timeline in Openmind. I had fun finding the clip art and sounds. I think we had too much time to play with it, but it was entertaining.

This class is so much fun....

I am enjoying the class. The format is great - very relaxed. I have learned alot about programs that I have not used before.

Okay, can you tell I teach writing? I kind of went overboard with the extended comment...

Eve said...

If you click on the little trash can by your own comment, you can make it go away, but the fact that it once was there remains on the blog.

Another teacher and I experimented the other day with Groupwise adn sent mail & figured out that you can retract only unopened from others' mailboxes. You can't retract something after someone has opened it. Wouldn't that be fun in a Middle School prank sort of way?

Rose said...

Please check out my blog at http://flintsdiscussion.blogspot.com/
I just set it up and am testing to see if the general public can comment to it. I actually set it up as invitation only, so if you can't post a comment, that is fine.

Rose,

I can't access your blog.

Meredith Steeper said...

Eve,

I want to test your email conspiracy. How do you retract unopened emails?

Rose said...

My blog is now open to all readers. Please check it out at http://flintsdiscussion.blogspot.com/ My students will be posting to it, so if you comment, make it student-friendly...

I have a blog. Check it out at http://watsonquestions.blogspot.com

Amy J. Crutchfield said...

I will have a "blogspot" sooner or later; I can't decide on a title. It must be jussssttt right!

Eve said...

In Groupwise, you hae a sent folder as well as your mailbox. Click on it. There are little envelope symbols next to each mail. You can click on the unopened ones & delete them. You get the choice of deleting from your own mailbox, from the recipient's mailbox, or from all of them.

Eve said...

I would be less stressed out if the class were spread over the whole school year. LIFT is & the Literacy Study Group I participated in last was & that suits my needs much better.

steppABC said...

Yeah! I was able to get on at home and post a message. I even got back to my blog. Amazing!! I didn't realize I had to sign in to my account to be able to post. Do I always have to do that?

Rose said...

Sherrie, cancel class? Alas, here we are. At least we won't have to make it up!
BTW, this is my fourth post to this blog.
For suggestions, I agree with the person who said we should not do the "fruit bowl mix-up."

I am excited that I finally have my Airliner working in my room. After using it for about two weeks, I am use to writing with it. It has really made working with my powerpoint presentations much easier.

Barbara said...

I just read Jennifer's comment that she has her airliner working; I am eager to learn to use this.
I am trying to become more technologically advanced in my classroom.

steppABC said...

Oops! I forgot we have to post four comments! Are we going to create a webpage besides the one that the district has already created for us?

Kelli said...

Airliners are AWESOME! I use mine almost daily. I will say though, it takes the students a good bit of time to get used to writing on it. It is easier to have the words already written for them and quite fun to have them put words in the right columns for matching games or play games of other sorts.

Sharie Cato said...

Technology is great, but setting it up can be a little challenging. I wish I had more time to use everything I am learning often enough so that it would be retained in this narrow brain.

Matt said...

Thank you for helping me figure out how to post a blog....even though I forgot what I was going to say....ahhh!

Dcooper said...

Thanks for your help.

kfrontz said...

jennifer...thanks to your help...you are the best...the greatest...the smartest...the youngest...wait till you get my age. i think i need to stop and change my depends right now!

Gaye said...

I have learned a great deal in this class but I need to actually use it. I have to make myself do things with the computer because I am not confident in my computer knowledge.

Matt said...

Is there a reason that Kevin is so....different?

Matt said...

Watch out Jennifer!!!!

Mr Smith said...

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt said...

I'm sorry if I didn't make that blog easier for you Rob...keep trying.

Mr Smith said...

Thanks, Ms Amy, for the brownies.

technology help free on weekends...set up appointments with Matt Cox...he is the intel guru.

Matt said...

Remember, it's Jennifer thats helping you...not me, dude!!!

kfrontz said...

seriously folks..this is really helping me a lot. So much information I can take back to the classroom and make me a better teacher and reach those students who relate and learn better with technology.

Jeanne said...

I've lost my assessment page. Does anyone have it on their computer?

Matt said...

This horizontal screen is a bit odd. What's up Frontz!!!

kfrontz said...

is anyone feeling bloggy today??? come on you guys...this is really fun...join in and get involved. She's checking to make sure we did this...you will not get in trouble.

Matt said...

Blogging may not get us in trouble, but blogging with you might!!!

kfrontz said...

if anyone is intested in my rubric...you are welcome to come and copy and paste if you would like...peace,love, and hair grease

Jennifer Dixon said...

I am really glad that we worked on rubrics today. I have always wanted to use Rubistar. I just haven't ever found the time to sit down and use it. Kevin really liked Rubistar too!

kfrontz said...

I may be leaving the teaching scene to pursue a career in rubric design. Can't remember when I had this much fun....I think I was getting a root canal!!!

Matt said...

Actually, root canals can be quite fun....compared to some of the daily dramas.

Lara said...

I agree with Jennifer. It is nice to have the time to use the rubric website.

Matt said...

Kevin, there is only one truly funny little man around here, and that is NOT me!!! :)

Matt said...

So Frontz, do you think Brenda has confidence in our Mad Blogging skills?

Meredith Steeper said...

I would like to express my disappointment at not being able to access my Intel stuff on my school computer.

It would make life a lot easier if I could pull from documents saved in Intel and/or in my school documents without having to use a flash drive or some other method of transferring.

Plus, I would like to be able to make up missed hours outside of class and GHS. I realize I am mostly complaining. They need to create a system where we log in when we begin working and log out when we finish. I guess you still can't monitor that we are actually doing work rather than playing Solitaire.

Alright, I blogged.

Matt said...

Sup Frontz!! We need to put those Rugby kids in their place. They think we don't actually talk about these conflicts...there's your Blog!!!

kfrontz said...

matty...if they were good it would be a different story....jon even challenged our coach,,,tough as nails to a boxing match...ask smith

Mrs Hedgecock said...

You folks have really learned to blog. I hope you will use it in your classes. They can comment on items you discuss in class or items of interest. Students enjoy blogging as much as you do.

Try it!!
